OPINION: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Should Do These 2 Things To Get United States Approval

On the 28th of October, 2020, it was known that the former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweal, has been proposed by a key group of WTO ambassadors to be the next Director General of the World Trade Organization.

However, the United States refused to endorse her and the position is still on hold, news coming from Reuters states that to appoint a new head of WTO, clearance from all 164 WTO members is needed, the United States are the only obstacle currently, here are 2 things I think Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala should do to get the approval of the United States:-


1. Get The United States Connections With Nigeria Back

I think the United States government are aware of the happenings in Nigeria and have severally threatened to impose travel ban to some set of politicians and citizens of Nigeria involved in any rigging, this shows the United States government don't have a pure mind towards Nigeria because of some particular and corrupt acts like rigging of election and the rest, this might be one of the reason the United States approval is on hold.

2. Speak out as a black

Yes, the United States should prove that black lives matter in every part of the world and in every position, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala should tell higher personnels or speak for herself as a black and tell the United States government to consider a black person being the head of the WTO organization, this message will move the United States government as racism is avoided and acted upon.

However, if she gets the position and approvals, she will be the first black woman to be the head of the WTO, the process will require a consensus rather than a formal vote.

Breaking News : #EndSARS protester attack bullion van in osun state

#EndSARS protesters, Monday, attacked bullion van in Osogbo, Osun State.  The bullion van was coming from Fagbewesa street, shortly after the protesters barricaded Olaiya junction.  While the bullion van went straight to Ogo-Oluwa area, the two vehicles conveying policemen turned back. One returned to Fagbewesa, while another escaped through MDS area.  The youths faced the bullion van, throwing pebbles at the van.

Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Explodes Over #LekkiMassacre Of #EndSARS Protesters

The leader of the  Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ,  Nnamdi Kanu , has condemned the attack on peaceful #EndSARS protesters at Lekki toll gate in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city. Cash-ent-news.blogspot.com    had reported earlier that soldiers of the Nigerian Army invaded a peaceful protest at Lekki toll gate on Tuesday evening,  killing four #EndSARS protesters in the process . Reacting to the  attack on the peaceful protesters in Lagos  in a tweet, Kanu, a director of Radio Biafra, said it is “shocking that Southern Nigerians are tolerating a Northern Muslim” President Muhammadu Buhari “using the Army to kill unarmed Southern #EndSARS protesters in Lagos” on a “Southern soil”. The apparently furious IPOB leader wondered if “Southern Christian President” would ever “contemplate killing unarmed Northern Muslim protesters in Kano”, northern Nigeria.
